Offbeat but involving tale of a wheelchair-bound radio reporter (Nick Stahl) who learns of a secret subculture of physically healthy people with a desire to be paralyzed. He falls for one of them (Vera Farmiga), who makes him an intriguing offer: She'll provide access to her strange world, in which some are willing to submit to amputation, if he'll allow her to find out what it's like to be confined to a wheelchair.
