Franco Nero stars in this Italian-produced variation of his popular "Django" spaghetti westerns. Borrowing a page from the repertoire of Bob Steele, Nero spends most of the film looking for the murderer of his father. The guilty party turns out to be the father of Nero's own half brother. Well, there goes the afternoon! A superb closing sequence and convincing spurts of violence along the way make up for The Avenger's dull stretches.
